Guardianships/Conservatorships

There are times when an individual is no longer capable of making many important decisions for themselves due to accident, age, or disease.  In other cases, children need someone to provide care for an absent or deceased parent.  The firm can assist you in becoming appointed as Guardian of your loved one, ensuring that they will be secure and cared for and that you will be in control of decisions pertaining to his or her person and property.  A guardian of the person is responsible for health and personal care.  A conservator of the estate manages the assets and pays expenses.  both a guardian and a conservator are accountable to the court and must file annual reports.  A single individual may serve in both capacities.
